Vita

Janina Kauz is a doctoral student and research assistant with Prof. Dr. Johanna Gollnhofer at the Institute for Marketing and Customer Insight at the University of St.Gallen (IMC-HSG). In addition to her doctoral studies, Janina is primarily active as a course director for CAS courses of the Custom Executive Education Programs.

Janina’s focus is on consumer research, in particular on the phenomenon of brand inheritance. How do consumers inherit brand relationships from their parents? Janina investigates this question using a qualitative research design based on cases from the retail, automotive and sports industries, as well as the education sector and selected B2B brands.

Before joining the University of St. Gallen, Janina worked for almost four years as a researcher in qualitative market research at Insight Institute AG in Zurich. There she gained valuable experience on client projects in very diverse industries. Previously, Janina completed a Master of Arts in Intercultural Communication at the University of Roehampton (London) and a Bachelor of Arts in English Linguistics and Literature at the University of Zurich.
